Play-doh to Connect the Crenshaw Light Rail to LAX

This time, play-doh, blocks, Legos and miniature busses created a visually exquisite delight recently during a demonstration showing the Crenshaw Light Rail to LAX.

This specific event was inspired by transportation expert href="http://blogdowntown.com/2008/06/3425-downtown-model-turns-planning-into-play" target="_blank">James Rojas, and had projects lead architect Anil Verma, and Metro personal in attendance, according to href="http://la.curbed.com/archives/2010/03/crenshaw_line_update_comes_with_blocks_and_playdoh.php" target="_blank">L.A. Curbed.    id="more-367550">

The idea behind this demonstration of play-doh, however, was to grab the attention of attendees to encourage discussion about where the rail’s stops would be located, and how they wanted planning to begin around those stops.

In addition to line extensions, transfers will be eliminated through this plan, as some href="http://www.westworld.com/~elson/larail/green.html" target="_blank">Metro Green Line Trains are intended to travel to the Crenshaw airport stop.  The Crenshsaw line will have up to seven underground, aerial and at-grade stations, said to be completed in about eight years.

This is not the first time that Move Trends has covered projects that used toys in real life. Take a look at   href="http://www.move.com/trends/using-legos-to-rebuild-new-york-city/">Using Legos to Rebuild New York City  and href="http://www.move.com/trends/lego-house-demolished-brick-by-plastic-brick/">Lego House Demolished Brick By Plasic Brick.

Do you have any ideas that would also benefit from a toy presentation? Move Trends would like to hear about them!

Play-Doh did an excellent job illustrating the concept of the light-rail connecting a key Los Angeles urban area to the international hub of the world. Hopefully citizens of LA can get behind this idea.
